Hotels In Victoria Bc

We were kicked out of a hotel room?
Have you ever been evicted from a hotel? I was, along with my husband and two friends. We were being loud and unruly! They also charged us a $150.00 smoking fine, although none of us smoke, but they could smell it in the room. Has anybody else had this experience? I am so angry. I may get the $150.00 reversed but we were treated like crack heads. My husband and I are business owners and our two friends are bank managers. Any lawyers out there with suggestions? This all happened at the Stratacona Hotel in Victoria BC. The $150.00 "smoking fee" was an unathorized charge on our Visa, we did not sign for it. Visa is investigating that charge. Oh, and the USS Ambassador was in town and most of them were also staying at the same hotel, and we were loud?! A Designer: I was being sarcastic. We were not in the room long enough to be loud and unruly. We are responsible people who behaved reasonably well. We were put in a room next to a "family", who had a baby, and they complained. None of my friends smoke. The reason I mentioned our jobs was to indicate that we are mature and responsible adults,who, no matter how much they drink, would never behave in a rude, or disrespectful manner. We were treated like trash by the staff, and we were shocked, insulted and embarressed.

Has anyone stayed at the Fairmont Empress Hotel in Victoria, BC?
I'm writing a short story (for a fiction class) and it takes place at the Empress Hotel in Victoria, particularly the tea lobby during afternoon tea. Problem is: I've never been there. I need people who have either worked there or visited there to describe what tea at the Empress is like: describe the ambience, decor, smells, colors, tea, food - I want to live through your experiences vicariously and it will create images I will use for my story. Was a harpist present during tea or did they have chamber music playing in the background? Was it stuffy and old-fashioned or young, yuppie, and bitchy? Enquiring minds NEED to know. If I like your answer, I'll write you in as a character.

Hi, i'm moving to Victoria for a month long course next month, i was wondering if any of you knew if there are any cheap hotels that i can rent for a whole month, i'm hoping to stay under the $1000 price tag! thanks alot!
